Front Office Football 2007 was released in October 2006. An update, to version 6.4, was released in October 2010. This update is free for all Front Office Football 2007 customers.

If you purchased the game after October 13, 2010, you most likely have the updated version. To check to see if you have the update, press the desk icon near the upper right corner of the game screen. The version number is in the bottom right of the information screen.

Installing the update will not affect your saved games in Front Office Football 2007. Download the installation package.

Installing the update requires that you first remove the existing game using the Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features option from the Windows Control Panel (due to a bug that appears in the Microsoft setup program, if you don't first uninstall an older version on Vista and Windows 7, the installer may run to completion without doing anything). There is no need to unlicense the game manually before a reinstallation.

Careers that you began with the original release are fully compatible with the updated version. However, if you are updating to Version 6.3 or later for the first time (this does not apply to completely new installations), you should download and run the Version 6.3 Saved Game Converter to maintain your saved games.

The saved game converter should only be run once - immediately before you uninstall an earier version of Front Office Football 2007. It will not work otherwise. If it's too late to run the utility and you want access to your old saved games, then you can still move all the saved game files yourself into the new saved game folders, which can be found under Users/your_profile_name/AppData after you've run the new version once. That's all the utility does.

Please be patient as the utility is running. It may have to copy thousands of files if you've been playing a long time. In many cases, the utility may look like it has stopped working. It's probably still operating, though.

You should run the utility, on any operating system, prior to installing 6.3 or later if you wish to maintain pre-6.3 saved games. You should NOT run the utility with a new purchase, or if you're upgrading from 6.3 to 6.4 or later.

The following changes are included in the 6.4 update, along with everything changed through 6.3b:

• Added a 2010 player file, team preferences and schedule.

• Made some tiny play resolution engine tweaks, nothing too substantial.

• Fixed a handful of problems with improperly marked or accepted penalties.

• Fixed a crash when a commissioner of a multi-player league releases at least 2,000 players right before free agency.

• Fixed an exploit where the user could increase luxury box prices to an absurd level and still sell a few.

• Addressed an issue in the multi-player game where an owner can submit a low-ball offer to a player who already possesses an offer, and have it ignored without replacing the existing offer.

• Implemented the new overtime rules for playoff games.

The College Years

For most gamplay questions about this and any of our products, your primary source of information is the help file included with the game. The help file can be viewed by pressing the F1 key from any screen in the game.

The TCY 1.3 Update - CD Version is available for The College Years. DO NOT download the update if you have the downloadable version of the game, licensed from ViaTech.

For those of you who have the Downloadable version, and purchased it prior to the 1.3 release on September 14, 2004, you should download the Version 1.3 Download and reinstall the game. This will replace your existing version, and will not affect your license for the game. DO NOT download this version if you own the CD version of the game.

The download version and the CD version are completely incompatible products, though they contain the exact same function.

Updating the game does not prevent you from continuing careers, but since it contains the latest schedules and conference alignments, teams will end up playing schedules that don't fit in with the alignments from a career begun before the update, as they will not change conferences.

Front Office Football 2004

Front Office Football 2004 was released through Solecismic Software on November 13, 2003 and is no longer on sale.

A patch, updating the game to version 5.1d, was released on June 14, 2005. To install the patch, simply download the installation file and run that file.

The patch will not harm careers started with version 5.0. Those of you who purchased the game more recently than June of 2005 downloaded version 5.1d when purchasing, so there's no need to reinstall.
