The College Years Reviews
The College Years is the college football counterpart to Solecismic
Software's award-winning Front Office Football.
The College Years has been featured in the following reviews:
- Jeff Lackey, writing for Computer Gaming World in the October 2001 issue, awarded
The College Years four stars.
- Darren Rovell of ESPN.com feated The College Years at the end of his sports business segment on ESPNews on August 8, 2001.
- Bill Abner, writing for Computer Games Online, said,
"It's as deep a simulation of college football that you'll find
anywhere." CG Online gave The College Years a score of 4 1/2 stars.
- Jonah Falcon, in a review for GamePen Magazine, wrote, "The College Years is
the deepest, most thorough, most enjoyable football text sim ever, and in the
top ten of best sports games ever, in any category." GamePen awarded
The College Years a perfect five-star score and an Editor's Choice 2001 Award. Later, GamePen awarded The College Years its Best Sports Game for the PC in its 2001 Midyear Report.
- Brett Todd, reviewing for GameSpot Magazine, wrote, "Setting
(recruiting) targets and going after them is incredibly engaging, so much so
that you can easily lose entire evenings to a single season's negotiations." GameSpot gave The College Years a score of 8.2.
- The
Sports Gaming Network gave The College Years a score of 89. "Will The College
Years (TCY) be able to mimic the success of the previous Gindin titles? After playing the
game for hours on end, I can say that TCY successfully carries the torch," wrote
reviewer Tim Martin.
