Determining Champions
With The College Years, you can choose to play using either a 24-team post-season tournament or a bowl system complete with conference affiliations and an attempt at a legitimate national championship game. Five different computer rating systems are included in the game, along with two simulated voter polls and a strength of schedule rating. These are combined to provide a ranking of every college team. There's no shortage of controversy in The College Years. Here, we see the computers picked North Carolina and California-Los Angeles as their favorite teams. The pollsters wanted LA and Virginia. But the overall rankings formula gave the nod to North Carolina, primarily because of a stronger schedule and one less loss. Will this snub spur Virginia and South Bend to greater heights? You'll have to play the game to find out. Copyright © Solecismic Software, 2008. All Rights Reserved.   |
