Front Office Football Eight was released in November 2016. The current vesion is 8.1 and includes the 2017 roster and coaching files. This game is exclusive to Steam.
The 8.1 update replaced the 2016 files with 2017 files. There are also a few minor AI tweaks, bug fixes and interface enhancements. Nothing earth-shattering. None of this will affect saved games. The only bug fixes I can think of off-hand relate to removing players from IR and a couple of penalty decision quirks. The biggest AI tweaks relate to late-game defensive calls (this is very tricky for many reasons), AI passing targets and classification of offensive play styles.
This update "moves" the San Diego franchise to the Los Angeles area with new games. In order to have this reflected in new careers, you will need to delete the files beginning with frfoot.* in the universe folder where saved games are stored (see the FAQ for instructions on how to find this folder).
You can visit the Front Office Football Eight Store for information about installing and purchasing the game. Steam handles all financial questions and installation questions.
The Steam version updates automatically to the most recent version. Updates will not affect your saved games.
Front Office Football Seven was released in December 2013. The current version is 7.2. The ViaTech version can be downloaded and purchased here: ViaTech Version 7.2 at any time. Installing the game gives you a free trial of up to three days. You can purchase a full license through the game interface.
If you already own ViaTech version 7.0 or 7.1, you can download 7.2 and install it free of charge. The installed license should be preserved when you install 7.2. The 7.2 update replaces the default rosters with 2015 rosters. It also replaces the coach file and the schedule.
Do not install the ViaTech version if you own the Steam version. It's the same product, but a different copy protection scheme.
The Steam version updates automatically whenever there's a new version. You can visit our Front Office Football Seven Store to purchase and install the Steam version of the game. The Steam version supports Steam Achievements.

The TCY 1.3 Update - CD Version is available for The College Years. DO NOT download the update if you have the downloadable version of the game, licensed from ViaTech.
For those of you who have the Downloadable version, and purchased it prior to the 1.3 release on September 14, 2004, you should download the Version 1.3 Download and reinstall the game. This will replace your existing version, and will not affect your license for the game. DO NOT download this version if you own the CD version of the game.
The download version and the CD version are completely incompatible products, though they contain the exact same function.
Updating the game does not prevent you from continuing careers, but since it contains the latest schedules and conference alignments, teams will end up playing schedules that don't fit in with the alignments from a career begun before the update, as they will not change conferences.
Earlier versions of Front Office Football are no longer supported. These games are no longer for sale.
