Once the teams are created, you will choose the team you want to control in this universe. Once chosen, this is your team and that can't be changed.

You can also choose the name of the league. This is the display name that will be shown throughout the game.

When you make these choices, players are created for your universe and the game will begin, either through a preference draft, full draft, or a start with players already assigned to teams at the end of training camp.
